What If I Exceed the Resources of My Pagely Plan?

There are two different sets of resources assigned to each of our hosting plans: dedicated CPU/memory and server allotments such as CDN, bandwidth, and disk space. Each set has a different impact on your account and WordPress sites.

Reaching CDN, Bandwidth & Disk Limits

We’ll never make your site go dark if you hit one of these resource caps. If you exceed any of these allotments linked to your hosting plan, a usage warning will appear in your Atomic dashboard. We tend to be lax if this is an infrequent or one-time occurrence. If you continue to surpass your resource thresholds, you’ll receive a notification via email to either upgrade your plan or purchase an expansion.

Reaching Your Server’s CPU & Memory Limits

If you near or exceed your solution’s CPU limit, your site may cease to respond well, triggering either server timeouts, like 503 errors or downtime alerts. In that situation, we would contact you, apprise you of the situation and consult with you about your options like bursting up your instance size to accommodate a higher, longer-term CPU load. We have active 24/7 monitoring systems in place to notify us of these events in advance.

Extended memory usage may warrant configuring a dedicated RDS to pair with your VPS for best performance. Our architecture is unique to managed WordPress hosting, we separate your front end server that processes your traffic requests from your database server for an ideal balance of durability, scale, and optimization-tuning.

Temporary Resizing

Should you be experiencing intermittent traffic spikes affecting your CPU utilization, we offer temporary resizing options to account for those added surges in visitors. This way, customers are only paying for the resources they need.
