Which Web Servers Does Pagely Use?

As a Pagely customer, you have two options:

  1. Apache + NGINX (default option)
  2. NGINX-only

The Apache + NGINX option is a good option if you use, and would like to continue to use, .htaccess configuration files. NGINX did not build this functionality into their server because they believe that it harms performance. We have this as our default server option to ease server migrations. However, we can help you convert your .htaccess file functionality into the NGINX-equivalent — so we can make your websites as high performance as possible.

Customers have the ability to individually choose which sites operate with which web server setup.

For an in-depth analysis of the pros and cons for both options and reasons for justifying a switch, check out our article: Pagely’s NGINX+Apache & NGINX-Only Modes.
