Created in 2006, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a collection of remote computing services that together make up a fully fledged cloud computing platform. The most central and well-known of these services are Amazon EC2 and Amazon S3. AWS allows for large computing capacity much faster and cheaper than building a physical server farm in-house. We have been utilizing the Amazon stack since late 2013 and now fully rely on it for all of our data center needs.
Recently we were approved as an Amazon Advanced Technology Partner, the top level of the AWS partner tiers. By becoming a partner, we now have a dedicated contact and in addition receive top shelf business, technical, marketing, and GTM support. This includes things like a repository of technical and business content created by Amazon exclusively for partners, weekly webinars, online and in-person training, joint marketing opportunities, and sales support for in-depth technical help. Early access to new preview products is a nice benefit as well.
What does this mean for you as a customer? That we’re deepening our relationship with the world’s leading provider of data centers worldwide; home to world-class organizations such as NASA, GE, HTC, Novartis, Spotify, The CDC, The FDA, Adobe, Netflix and more. This means better solutions and technical know-how for you and your business. Need a complex cluster for WordPress built on top of AWS? Check. Need help with scaling beyond critical mass? Check. Need something troubleshot that nobody else could figure out? Check.
Examples of what we’re able to do with Amazon include our multi-region VPS-3 and VPS-4 pairs that were among the very first to allow HHVM. In addition, our developer feature set is always expanding, and we’re planning to add additional higher level plans in 2015. Since we’ve been doing “WordPress on AWS” for over a year now, we’ve become quite the experts and this partnership will take it even a step further.
Pagely manages Enterprise WordPress solutions for companies like: Microsoft, Twitter, Vonage, Bit.ly, Footlocker and thousands of others.
